Quarterly Update
Ward One Picnic and Information Day
I hosted a Ward One Picnic and Information event under the shelter at Moraine Park on August 10th.
This resident-first picnic-style event allowed for discussion and connection with residents, and that is what took place.
A key to this event was the information to better connect residents with Twinsburg Youth Sports Leagues, Senior Services, and how to connect with our building department to do things to review the list of registered contractors, file a permit, or report a concern.
Many elected and appointed officials from Twinsburg and the County were in attendance.
Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich was there to provide resources like security pens to help prevent check fraud and information on how victims can connect with their many advocacy programs.
Information from a number of county offices and agencies, including information to assist with property tax, clerks’ office, and engineering.
Stow Municipal Court Clerk Amber Zibritosky attended the event and shared valuable resources about the court and their expungement event—connecting people with an opportunity to knock down barriers.
This year, one of our community’s newer non-profits , Twinsburg Native Habitat, was represented. https://twinsburgnativehabitat.org/ Oil
The library was there promoting their programs and such. Scouting America participated in promoting their programs.
Councilperson Furey was also there connecting with residents, as were members of the JEDI Committee, Parks and Recreation, and the Environmental Commission.
Twinsburg Fire and Police Departments were there to connect with residents and share updates about their departments and show off some of their equipment.
E-Bike Safety
Several residents have reached out with safety concerns related to e-bikes. I’ve experienced and observed several instances of high risk, dangerous and inappropriate e-bike usage. Twinsburg Police Department is working to communicate appropriate usage.
School Supplies:
Building upon last year's successes and the goal of growing this event, this year’s gathering included a school supply give away.
I am incredibly thankful to all who helped make the day a success. By participating, sharing and attending you helped make Twinsburg a better community. I’ve already started planning the 2026 Ward One Picnic and Information Day and look forward to making next year’s event even better.
Community Events:
TwinsDays
2025 marked the 50th TwinsDays event, and it was as big as ever.
On August 6th, I took part in the JEDI event
State of Summit County
On October 1st, I attended the State of Summit County, basically an opportunity to hear about the priorities, progress, and challenges facing Summit County. Information that can help guide my efforts here in Twinsburg.
It was also an opportunity to reconnect with Ilene Shapiro, Summit County Executive, and share how her presentation was the similar to a workforce development nonprofit that we both were part of about two decades ago.
Safety Forces Day
Looking forward

Leaf collection:
Twinsburg’s leaf collection program will begin in mid-October and continue through December, weather permitting. To help us serve you better and keep our neighborhoods looking their best, here are a few helpful guidelines for a smooth and efficient leaf collection:
Pile Your Leaves Properly: Please place your leaves in long, narrow piles parallel to the roadway. This makes collection easier and quicker!
LEAVES ONLY, Please: Make sure your piles contain only leaves—no grass clippings, ornamental grasses, perennials, or other garden debris.
Keep Piles Clean of Debris: To protect our equipment and keep the collection process running smoothly, please ensure your piles are free of branches, trash, dirt, construction materials, metal, nails, wire, or any other debris.
Please do not place your piles in the street, over storm drains, or in cul-de-sac islands.
Infrastructure updates:
Sanitary Lateral Replacements along Glenwood Drive
Northeast Ohio Trenching will be replacing 8 sanitary laterals from the main to the cleanout along Glenwood Drive that are compromised from tree root intrusion. Work is slated for October.
