Quarterly Update - Happy New Year January 2026
Food Drive: Concerned about threats to SNAP and knowing 600+ Twinsburg households rely on it, I teamed with the Twinsburg Charitable Fund to collect nonperishable food and hygiene items for Our Community Hunger Center and the Faith Community Pantry. We raised over $500 and gathered 450+ donated items thanks to the generosity of Twinsburg's residents.
Activities attended:
Trunk and Treat
Twinsburg Library Foundation Fundraiser: I attended the 2025 Foundation Experience Reverse Raffle and support the Foundation’s Legacy Circle.
Turkey Trot and Fun Run: Council Person, Shaun Castillo and I handed out medals to fun run finishers and awards to Turkey Trot winners and age-group leaders.
Frost bright: Before the drone show, I helped recreation staff hand out lights to parade goers.
Hospitalized Veteran Holiday Card Drive: I worked with Twinsburg residents who provided over 1,000 holiday cards to help the Veteran Assurance Network give every hospitalized Ohio veteran a Christmas card.
Light the Night: Serving latka and sharing in fellowship with residents during the holidays.
Santa Run: Assisted the South Route
Safety Training:
I joined City employee’s safety training from Twinsburg Fire Department. We completed CPR, AED, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher courses. The American Red Cross training covers adult and child care, giving participants the skills and confidence to act in a medical emergency. Residents can also take this training.https://www.mytwinsburg.com/478/CPR-Classes

Police Department Updates:
K9 BENY: A new member of Twinsburg’s K9 team: Officer Maggie Hunter and her dog Beny, a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix born in Slovakia on July 26, 2024. They completed over six weeks of intensive training this fall. Beny is certified in suspect apprehension, patrol, tracking, finding objects, and drug detection.
Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Program: Ohio has 831 law enforcement agencies; 329, including Twinsburg PD, are currently certified by the Ohio Collaborative. Building upon certification, Twinsburg is one of 20 agencies now seeking accreditation in the program created by Governor Mike DeWine to recognize departments that voluntarily meet higher standards through independent review.
City Ordinance: A resident told me a neighbor leaves their cat outside.
Board and Commission Openings:
Service Department Update:
Christmas Tree Disposal: Drop undecorated real trees in the designated area of the Liberty Park parking lot. Trees will be chipped into mulch.
Snow Removal: The City's Service Department first clears main roads, bridges, hills, and secondary main roads to keep travel safe and reliable. After those routes are plowed, crews clear residential side streets, then the senior snow plow program.
Leaving snow in driveway aprons is a necessary part of keeping roads clear, but you shouldn't push, shovel, or blow snow from private property onto public streets.
Senior Driveways: Enrolled driveways are cleared once about 3 inches of snow has fallen. City streets and highways are cleared first. Driveways are plowed only once every 24 hours. For details, call the Snowplow Hotline: 330-963-8703.
